The Community Schools Initiative provides a holistic approach to education, focusing on academics, health and social services, youth and community development, and active community engagement. Its aim is to create a strong sense of community and empowerment, providing students and families with the resources they need to succeed both in and out of school. La Iniciativa de Escuelas Comunitarias proporciona un enfoque holístico a la educación, centrándose en lo académico, servicios sociales y de salud, desarrollo juvenil y comunitario, y participación comunitaria activa. Glazier '24-'25 Implementation Plan

Community School Council

Our Community School Council brings together families, staff, students, and community partners to collaborate and support student and family success. The first meeting of this school year will take place on Wednesday, August 27th at 1:00 PM in Room 33.

Meetings will be held on the 4th Wednesday of each month (with adjustments as needed around holidays and breaks):

LA County Dept of Mental Health - "Promotors" Parent Workshops

Last school year, we were fortunate to partner with the LA County Department of Mental Health to offer a free mental health workshop series for our Glazier parents. Families gained valuable knowledge on supporting their own well-being, caring for their children, and reducing stigma in our communities. Parents who completed the full series were awarded certificates of completion! We are excited to share that we plan to bring this workshop series back again this school year. Stay tuned for more information on upcoming dates and details!

El año escolar pasado, tuvimos la fortuna de colaborar con el Departamento de Salud Mental del Condado de Los Ángeles para ofrecer una serie de talleres gratuitos para nuestros padres de Glazier. Nuestras familias recibieron valiosa información sobre el bienestar, el cuidado de sus hijos y la reducción del estigma en nuestras comunidades. ¡Los padres que completaron la serie recibieron certificados de participación! ¡Nos complace anunciar que planeamos ofrecer esta serie de talleres nuevamente este año escolar! Estén atentos para más información sobre las próximas fechas y detalles.
